Astronaut to speak at association event

Astronaut William S. Mcarthur Jr. will speak about life aboard the International Space Station during a Clear Lake Association of Senior Programs presentation, Thursday, March 8, 5:30 to 7 p.m. University of Houston-Clear Lake offers the event as part of the association's "Visions in Our Midst" speaker series.

Mcarthur, a retired colonel with the U.S. Army, has served on four space flights since becoming an astronaut in 1991. He has logged 224 days, 22 hours, 28 minutes and 10 seconds in space. His most recent trip to space was as part of the Expedition 12 crew in 2005-2006 when he spent a six month tour of duty aboard the International Space Station.
