Police Beat - Help With Neighborhood Speeders Is Available

July 19, 2004

The League City Police Department (LCPD) has purchased a Speed Monitor Trailer to place in areas of League City noted for speeding vehicles. The trailer was funded for community service through a Local Block Grant.

The trailer's computer system provides information about vehicle type, speed, and the amount of traffic.

If you have want help in your neighborhood with speeders, please contact Ofc. Paul Odin at 281-338-8201 or you can e-mail him at podin@lcpd.com to arrange for the trailer to be set up.

Please be sure to leave your name, phone number, location and time(s) that the speeding problem occurs.

National Night Out is Almost Here

National Night Out is August 3rd from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.

During National Night Out residents in neighborhoods throughout League City and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. Many neighborhoods throughout League City will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from police, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and anti-crime and anti-drug rallies.

The League City Police Department, Volunteer Fire Department, and Volunteer EMS would like to come to each neighborhood gathering. They would also like to bring their Police, Fire, and EMS vehicles. If you would like to register your event with the city or you have any questions, please contact Ofc. Gonzales at (281) 338-4175.
